South Asian dating in the Bay Area.

Launching Summer 2026 · Fremont · Sunnyvale · Cupertino · San Jose

Fremont alone has more South Asians than most U.S. states. Stretch out to Sunnyvale, Cupertino, San Jose, and the East Bay and you have the largest, youngest, most tech-concentrated desi population in the country.

The new-immigration belt.

The Bay Area's South Asian community grew most aggressively from the late 1990s onward as the tech industry brought hundreds of thousands of H-1B workers, mostly from India. The result: a community that skews younger, more recent-immigrant, and more single than legacy diaspora cities like Edison or Houston. A meaningful share of the dating-age desi population in the Bay is under 35.

Fremont is roughly 30 percent Asian, with the second-largest Indian American population of any U.S. city by share. Mowry Avenue, Mission Boulevard, and the area around the Fremont BART station are the cultural heart. The Fremont Gurdwara Sahib (one of the largest in North America) serves a massive Punjabi Sikh community.

Sunnyvale and Cupertino have similarly high desi concentrations, skewing more Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayali due to the South Indian engineer migration pattern. Apple and Google's South Asian employee populations live mostly in this corridor.

San Jose proper has a more mixed South Asian community spread across neighborhoods like Berryessa and Evergreen. The Shiva-Vishnu Temple of Livermore and the BAPS mandir in Milpitas serve the wider Bay desi population.

What is different about dating here.

The Bay's South Asian dating market has features that other diaspora cities don't:

A first-generation H-1B layer. Many desi singles here arrived in their 20s for grad school or work and are dating in a country whose family network is on the other side of the world. The auntie network is real but remote. Mainstream apps fail this group particularly badly.

A strong second-generation Indian American population at companies like Google, Meta, Apple, and a generation of startup founders. Often dating across both first-gen and second-gen lines, which the niche desi apps tend to enforce as a hard split.

Massive sub-community diversity. The Bay has the largest concentrations of Telugu, Tamil, and Punjabi communities outside their home states / countries, plus growing Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and Sri Lankan populations in cities like Hayward, Newark, and Milpitas.

Why Saath fits the Bay.

We respect the difference between Telugu and Tamil, between first-gen and second-gen, between recent immigrant and long-settled. No caste filter. Free safety features.
